Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga. They're still great games. But after a few rounds, it's fair to wonder how we once spent entire afternoons playing them.

We think we figured it out. What was missing wasn't another game. It was the arcade.

It wasn't just about beating the game. It was about beating your friends, putting your initials on the screen, and making sure everyone saw them. A little friendly trash talk never hurt, either.

Geekcade connects arcade cabinets (we call them cabs) so friends can share scores and keep the competition going, even when their machines aren't in the same room. Thanks to the work of hi2txt, we can read high scores from classic arcade games and bring them together.

But there's a catch. Somewhere in the world, somebody is absurdly good at your favorite game. Competing against the entire planet isn't always much fun. Geekcade is built around your community first. Your friends, your rivals, your arcade.
